April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July. She started guitar and piano lessons at age seven. The passion for making music was ignited. April Lockhart composed her very first song, Different at age of twelve. The singer spent much of her the time of 14 writing songs and practicing the music. Soon after she began taking excursions to write with her father in NY or LA. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in her book Take My Hand to help the people in her life who are struggling with disabilities, peer pressure and even suicide. Lockhart works in partnerships at famous clean beauty brand Ilia as well as an influencer in the lifestyle industry with her own growing following. Lockhart was born without a left hand and that is one aspect of who she is, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her account on Instagram however she doesn't place it in the spotlight of it. The message? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and we're beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her handicap. She doesn't wish to become a disability advocate who focuses on that. There are many different aspects to Lockhart. My day-today life is not affected by it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover the solutions I have for my problems. It's a big element of my life which is why it's crucial for us to speak about it. Lockhart's journey to acceptance of herself is one that will last a lifetime, but she inspires me in this regard. Lockhart has admitted that she's gone through phases where she felt uncomfortable in dressing in certain styles that displayed her arms. The fashionista wears what she loves and posts photos of herself wearing the clothes she wears on social media. Self-love, she explains, is a process. "I believe that you will ever be in that place," she said. That's my opinion. everyone with whatever their insecurity may be. It's my opinion that having those that have a sense of who you are and understand the depths of your soul is vital because they'll also be the people who remind you What are you concerned about?
